Define melting point:

-when parts. in a solid move fast enough to overcome forces holding them together - temp. at which this happens = melting point

What is freezing point? *Freezing point
-temp. at which force attr. particles to one another holds them together
What is heat of fusion? *Heat of fusion
-amt. of heat req'd to melt one gram of any substance at its melting pt.
Define boiling point: *Boiling point
-pt. at which molecules of a liquid begin to escape as gas
What is heat of vaporization? *Heat of vaporization
-amt. of heat req'd to change 1 gram of liq. to gas at boiling pt.
What is condensation? *Condensation
-pt. at which cooling gas changes back to liq.
